The Barcelona man's acrobatic effort was his sixth strike of the competition so far, securing victory over Arsenal and a safe passage into the quarter-finals
Luis Suarez’s flying volley in Barcelona’s round-of-16 second-leg clash against Arsenal at Camp Nou has been named UEFA Champions League Goal of the Week, presented by Nissan.
The Uruguayan rounded off a slick passing move around the edge of the Premier League side’s penalty area by leaping to meet a Dani Avles cross and volley his stunning finish past David Ospina to help secure a 3-1 victory on the night that sealed Barca’s place in the quarter-finals.
It was the 29-year-old’s sixth goal of the UEFA Champions League so far this season, leaving him tied with club-mate Lionel Messi, but still some seven strikes behind current top-scorer Cristiano Ronaldo of Real Madrid.
And it is the second time this season that Suarez has claimed the prize, after this ferocious finish against Bayer Leverkusen gave him the gong on Matchday Two.
Suarez saw off competition for the prize from the likes of Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman, Chelsea's Diego Costa, Arsenal's Mohamed Elneny and Juan Cuadrado of Juventus.
