WHY YOU SHOULD NEVER TRY ANAL S*X

Many people have devised several means to s3x..ual satisfaction, and one of the ways some people have adopted is anal s.e.x. This means s.e.x through the anus.
And the act seems to be growing, because in spite of the society’s stance on it and how much it has been condemned by some medical experts, a report by the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention, under the United States Department of Health and Human Services, shows that 44 per cent of men and 36 per cent of women have had anal s.e.x at least once in their lifetime.
Apart from those who tried it once in a lifetime, a report by WebMD, an American corporation that reports news and information pertaining to human health and well being, found in 2015 that as many as five to 10 per cent of sexually active women engage in receptive anal s.e.x.
Notably, apart from consenting heterosexual adults and homosexuals, it has been observed that some of those who also practise it are young men and women lured into it based on money, while some children; young boys and girls, have been or are being sexually abused by older men.
Regardless, given that some have already embraced this backdoor action, it is however instructive to note that there are serious health risks attached to anal s.e.x, and some of these include:
Severe physical pains: One of the many adverse effects of anal s.e.x is that it could cause serious physical pain, as the penile penetration could tear the tissue inside the woman’s anus, while the man could also feel some pain on his p3nis. This is mainly because the anus is not lubricated like the vagina, thus, thrusting might bring about some pains, more so that the skin on the p3nis is such a flexible one that is prone to tear on slight friction. Even though such people tend to use lubricants like cream, to lessen the pain, Dr. William Blahd, an emergency medicine specialist, who wrote on WebMD, noted that using lubricants does not completely prevent tearing of the tissue in the anus. While both persons may try to enjoy the act, it was also gathered that the pain after the exercise may not go away quickly, especially if the man has a bigger organ. Blahd would also point out that apart from the pain, consistent anal s.e.x could affect the functioning of the anus and affect the overall health of such persons.
He added, “There could be bleeding after anal s.e.x which could be due to hemorrhoid (a swollen vein or group of veins in the region of the anus) or tear, or something more serious such as a perforation (hole) in the colon. This is a dangerous problem that requires immediate medical attention. Treatment involves a hospital stay, surgery, and antibiotics to prevent infection.
Anal leakage: While men who engage in masturbation have to contend with seminal leakage, in which case sperm begins to leak out of their p3nis even when there is no erection, due to excessive masturbation, people, including women and homosexuals, who engage in anal s.e.x tend to have weakened anal sphincter, thereby reducing their ability to hold faeces for a long time. Blahd explained that anal sphincter, which controls the closing of the anus after defecation, is a tight circular muscle that constricts and expands, but that due to repeated penile penetration, the sphincter would be weakened, “making it difficult to hold in faeces until you can get to the toilet.”
Also, a gynaecologist, Dr. Bolanle Shukra-Okesina, said anal s.e.x destroys the inner tissues and that such women or the (receiving) men, in the case of homosexuals, could end up using pampers. She explained, “The anus has a locking mechanism that keeps it close when you finish defecating. So, if somebody continues to traumatise that area, that place relaxes and becomes slack, such that the anus won’t close anymore.
“After a long time of practising it, the person would start having loose release of gas and stool because the sphincter in the anus would have become slack. I’ve heard a lot of young guys that put on pampers because of that. It’s also applicable to young guys who are being abused or lured into it by older men because of money.”

Free ticket to STIs: According to experts, sexually transmitted infections can easily be transmitted through anal s.e.x. According to Blahd, this is partly because if the penetration of the p3nis tears the tissue inside the anus, it serves as broad opening for viruses and bacteria to penetrate the bloodstream of such persons, and the infections that could be transmitted in this regard include HIV. He said studies had shown that s.e.x through the anus is 30 times more risky for HIV infection than  s.e.xthrough the vagina. He added, “Our external tissue has layers of dead cells that serve as a protective barrier against infection. The tissue inside the anus does not have this natural protection, which leaves it vulnerable to tearing and the spread of infection.” Even though using a condom could reduce the likelihood of getting infection, it has been said that condom is not an absolute (100 per cent) protection against infection.
Shukra-Okesina also explained that there are some organisms in the stool and some in the inner canal of the anus, which a man could easily contact during anal s.e.x. She added, “For people who get involved in it, they contract those organisms and so they are prone to having infections. And the effect of having to treat several infections along the genital tract is that it can block the tract, causing difficulty when they want to make a woman pregnant, because that is the same tract semen passes through.” This is applicable whether the man does it with a male or a female.
And it should equally be noted that the possible health issues connected to STIs include pain with urination and intercourse, vaginal bleeding and discharge, rashes, itching and odour oozing out from the genitals, infertility, reproductive system cancers and inflammation of the coiled tube at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm.
The anus has loads of bacteria: As the canal for human waste (faeces), it has been found that the anus is a breeding ground for bacteria, and Blahd stressed that even if both of the persons involved in the act do not have sexually transmitted disease before the act, the quantum of bacteria in the anus are capable of infecting the man, and that is easily caught through the penile penetration. While anal s.e.x on its own is as risky as can be imagined, Blahd warned that the situation could be worse if the man and the woman engage in vaginal s.e.x after anal s.e.x. He said this could lead to vaginal and urinary tract infections, and the urinary tract includes bladder, ureter, urethra and kidney. And for those who like to put their mouths in the anus, perhaps out of sexual excitement or adventure, Blahd warned that oral contact with the anus could make both persons stand the risk of hepatitis, which is a disease characterised by inflammation of the liver, human papillomavirus infection, which could result in anal cancer or warts, which is a small, hard, benign growth on the skin, caused by a virus. Meanwhile, there are reports that some men who had s.e.xthrough the anus were found to have the hard-to-treat Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus, which is a bacterium that causes infections in different parts of the body and it is tougher to treat because it is resistant to common antibiotics. According to WebMD, it can cause serious skin infections, infect the bloodstream, the lungs and even the urinary tract. Notably, this infection can be passed among sexual partners.

Anal cancer: Apart from the infections and other effects that have been identified, anal s.e.x has also been found to cause anal cancer. According to Shukra-Okesina, anal s.e.xcould also lead to cancer, due to the changes in the nature of the tissues in the anus. She said, “On the long run, once the nature of the tissues changes, which is known as metaplasia, the mucosa, which is a membrane that lines various cavities in the anus and some other parts of the body and surrounds internal organs, also becomes infected over time. It becomes inflamed. And so these continuous abnormal changes of the mucosa would lead to anal cancer on the long run.”

2019: CRISIS ROCKS APC IN NORTH-WEST

                                 Image result for apc
Ahead of the 2019 general elections, a crisis of confidence
Saturday PUNCH gathered in Abuja on Friday that the crisis in the Kano and Kaduna state chapters of the party was threatening to tear the zonal leadership apart. Some of the party leaders with eyes on the party’s ticket at various levels in the 2019 general elections are fighting dirty over moves to control the party structure in the various states as well as at the national level.
Several secret meetings convened to rein in some of the gladiators have so far not yielded the desired results as some of them have started a public war of attrition.
On December 30, 2016, the North-West Zonal Woman Leader, Hajiya Aisha Kaita, accused the Zonal National Vice Chairman, Inuwa Abdulkadir, of misappropriating N21m meant for the procurement of furniture for the zonal office.
She also accused him of bias in the handling of the crisis in the Kano and Kaduna state chapters of the party.
Specifically, she told journalists, “I have it on good authority that the zonal National Vice Chairman in the person of Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir single-handedly opened and operates a bank account in the name of the North-West zonal committee with him as the sole signatory to the account in total violation of Article 23 (iii) of the party’s constitution.
“Furthermore, as an elected member of the zonal committee, I am aware that the Presidential Campaign Council funds meant for the zone were misappropriated by the zonal chairman.”
In response, Abdulkadir said contrary to her claims, the only account the zone operates was the one opened and administered by the party’s national secretariat.
He also said to the best of his knowledge, nobody had made any remittance to the account from March 2015 to date, noting that he had been maintaining the party’s zonal secretariat and vehicle from his personal funds and challenged anyone with a contrary information to make the evidence public.
While dismissing Kaita’s allegations as “pure” mischief, Abdulkadir said the woman leader was acting out a script written for her by the Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and a former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso.
The Zonal National Vice Chairman told journalists in Abuja on Friday, “They (El-Rufai and Kwankwaso) are playing politics. I have some constraints as a leader of this party; they are from my zone. I am leading them; I don’t need to go into some kind of details of what they intend to achieve, either with me or anyone else. I am appealing to all my members to be law-abiding, to be more responsive and responsible in the conduct of this game of politics.
“They have aspirations which are legitimate and they are entitled to them. They can aspire to whatever office they wish in accordance with the constitution of our party and the constitution of the land, but there must be decorum.
“Our party will not accept a situation whereby there will be lawlessness and we will not encourage anything that will bring about disharmony among our members. I repeat that it is legitimate for anybody to aspire to any office he wants without going this way.”
He alleged that a week before the woman leader addressed journalists, El-Rufai’s media assistants had confided in a journalist that their principal was going to take him on with regards to the crisis in the state chapter of the APC.
The media aides, he further said, had also revealed that their principal would achieve his aim by teaming up with Kwankwaso, who is equally aggrieved over the handling of the crisis in the Kano State chapter of the party.
Abdulkadir said, “This did not surprise me because of the previous encounters I had with their principal (El-Rufai) and his threats and outbursts. On several occasions, I had meetings with him when, as the leader of the party in the zone, I made passionate appeal for him to take leadership and drive a process that would harmonise, reconcile and solidify the party in the state.
“One of such appeals I made was in the presence of other governors from the zone in his office, but his reaction was volatile and he threatened to beat me up and prevent me from coming into Kaduna.
“I kept my calm as a leader, considering the volatility of Kaduna State in terms of political reaction which cannot just be ignored, and the attendant threat it poses vis-à-vis the tremendous goodwill and support the party is enjoying in Kaduna State.
“The other governors share the same concern with me and he was pacified and it was agreed, after consultations with all concerned, to appoint a reconciliation committee under the chairmanship of Governor Aminu Bello Masari to put some more efforts in reconciling our members.”
According to him, the governor’s reluctance to cooperate with the Masari-led committee is stalling its work.
He also recalled that the crisis rocking the Kaduna State chapter of the party began from the conduct of congresses for the election of party executives in the state and that it was later carried over to the conduct of the governorship primaries.
The party leader also explained that when El-Rufai emerged as the party’s candidate and picked the former state party chairman as running mate, El-Rufai and his campaign team refused to recognise and allow the deputy chairman operate in that capacity.
Speaking on the crisis in the Kano State chapter, Abdulkadir recalled that the zonal leadership, on receipt of a petition from the ousted state chairman of the party, Umar Haruna Doguwa, who was said to be loyal to Kwankwaso, had protested against his removal from office by the state executive committee.
According to him, if any of the parties to the dispute is not satisfied with the decision of the zone, they still have a right to appeal to higher authorities.
In response, Kwankwaso said the Zonal National Vice Chairman was being economical with the truth with regards to the situation in Kano State.
The former governor, now a senator, who spoke through his spokesperson, Abdulsalam Aminu, said, “Abdulkadir cannot constitute himself into a “one-man party leadership.”
“With regards to the Kano issue, no decision was taken at the meeting in Dutse. Even if the meeting was properly constituted and conducted and decisions taken in that direction (to uphold the removal of the former chairman), the decision is supposed to be communicated to the national secretariat.”

Four companies, Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited; Seagate Property Development & Investment Co. Limited; Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Development Company Limited have pleaded guilty to laundering the sum of $15, 591,700 million for Waripamo Owei-Didafa, an Aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan.
The companies pleaded guilty to the charges leveled against them by the EFCC before a Federal High Court Sitting in Lagos on Thursday.

They were all charged by the EFCC alongside the former aide to former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, a lawyer, Amajuoyi Azubuike Briggs & a banker, Demola Bolodeoku.
Meanwhile the other accused have all pleaded not guilty to a 15 count amended charge.
The cash is reportedly among the same money former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan claimed belong to her. It would be recalled that she filed ownership of the money seeking a fundamental rights enforcement suit on the money last week.
Mrs Jonathan had prayed to the court among other things to compel the EFCC to immediately remove the ‘No Debit Order’ placed on the accounts where the monies are deposited.

The Nigerian rapper who has released released a studio album every year since his debut in 2011, is working on maintaining his figures and keeping his momentum going, by dropping a studio album in 2016.
The new album will be released in December, as songs on the album have already been recorded. It will feature hit song ‘Who you epp’, along with other singles. No official title, artwork, and tracklist has been released.
This will be Olamide’s 7 album. In 2011, he launched his career with “Rapsodi”, and went further to release a string of albums every year including “YBNL” (2012), “Baddest Guy Ever Liveth” (2013), “Street OT” (2014), “2 Kings” (joint album with Phyno, 2015), and “Eyan Mayweather” (2015).
2016 has been a big year for the rapper. Under his leadership and guidance, his record label, YBNL, has released an album (“YAGI”) for rapper Lil Kesh, who have subsequently left the company, to found his personal imprint.
It is currently still promoting Adekunle Gold’s “Gold” album. He has also began work on another of his signed rappers, Chinko Ekun, who is releasing singles.
Olamide recently said he will never pay money to have an international collaboration.
Speaking with HipTV, the ‘Shakiti bobo’ rapper made it quite clear that he won’t go down the route of parting away with cash for an international collaboration.
The rapper is of the belief that if he puts in the right amount of work, together with the grace of God, his music will speak for him and take him so far, giving him the deserved international recognition.
He made reference to Fela Kuti who didn’t have to do any international collaboration to penetrate the international market.
“Fela no do any international collaboration before they recognise Fela for international market,” the rapper said.
The ‘baddo’ rapper attributes the street as what makes him tick as an artist “We rep the streets and the street is the majority”, he said.

Resign now, PDP tells Buhari

President Muhammadu Buhari
The Peoples Democratic Party has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to leave office immediately.
But before quitting, the former ruling party asked the President to return the country to how he met it when he assumed office on May 29, 2015.
The spokesperson and a member of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Prince Dayo Adeyeye, said this in a statement he signed in Abuja on Wednesday.
The former minister of state for works said his party was not happy with the state of affairs in the country.
He specifically mentioned the statement credited to the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, that, “recession is a word.”
Adeyeye said, “Is this statement as a result of ignorance, lack of patriotism or in-line with President Buhari’s comment that his ministers are noise makers?
“For the record, recession is characterised as a period of negative economic growth for two consecutive quarters, given rise to high rate of  unemployment, fall in output, increase in government borrowing, etc.
“Following this understanding, Nigeria’s economy is already near depression.  The crass ineptitude and lukewarm-attitude of this All Progressives Congress government is no longer tolerable, and therefore, we are calling on President Buhari and his team to return Nigeria to its state of booming economy before they assumed office in May, 2015, and then quit immediately to allow other capable leaders revive our ailing economy.”
Adeyeye said about three airlines, local and international, and some banks had allegedly suspended operations and sent their members of staff on an indefinite leave due to the poor state of Nigeria’s economy.
He said Nigerians were aware that the PDP government invested heavily in most of the nation’s airports, an action he said resulted to alleged ‘facelift’ and improved operations through remodelling, construction of new airports, refurbishing and equipping of the local and international airports to  meet the best practices in the aviation industry.
He said the APC’s administration had frittered away all the good policies and programmes which he claimed the PDP put in place, thereby bringing down the aviation sector in the country amongst other catastrophes he said the new leadership had caused.
He said the President should sit down to work instead of constantly blaming past governments at all time.
He said, “What Nigerians want from this administration are positive results and not resorting to throwing tantrums on the PDP at every given opportunity.
“Our call for the President to return the country to how he met it in 2015 is justified on the following grounds.
“In 2015 when the President came to power, a bag of rice was selling at N7,000, but now, it is above N20,000; a ‘mudu’ of beans was N150 then and now, it is N500; one US dollar was then trading for N197 but now it is over N400.
“Also, a litre of fuel was N87 but now is N145; cost of transportation and other services had skyrocketed. Given our observations since the inception of this government, they have nothing to offer and as such, quitting will be a solution because nobody can give what he/she does not have. The APC has failed.”
Adeyeye called on Nigerians to recall President Buhari’s purported “body language” at the beginning of his administration and reiterated that  governance “is a serious business and not about someone’s body language’ and de-marketing strategies of Mr. President while ‘globetrotting’.
“When this government came to power in May 2015 riding on the achievements of the previous PDP administration, President Buhari’s handlers and his party, the APC, claimed it was his ‘body language’ that brought some positive changes the country was witnessing at that time.
“So, we want to know what are the results of the so-called ‘body language’?”
He concluded that the earlier the President and his team quit, the better for the country, saying “there is no better time than now to make this call for the President to return the country to how he met it and quit.
“He can even quit right away for a more experienced team to take over.”
Adeyeye appealed to members of his party and other well-meaning Nigerians to keep praying to God to intervene so that the country could quickly recover from the ailing economy.
The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, Mr. Osita Okechukwu, who was until his appointment, the South-East Zonal spokesman for the APC, has dismissed the PDP’s call for Buhari’s resignation.
Okechukwu said the PDP was simply trying to make Nigerians forget the 16 years of its maladministration.
He said, “On May 13, 2010, the Jonathan administration announced the contract award of three refineries which he called the greenfield refinery. One was to be located in Bayelsa, one in Kogi and one in Lagos, if those refineries were constructed, the billions of naira we are losing through vandalism of our pipelines would not be the order of the day.
“If his wife, Patience, was wise enough to use the money she used to build a hotel in Yenagoa for the refinery, we wouldn’t have been where we are today.
“The Nigerian people know where the rain started beating us. As the Petroleum Task Force chairman, Buhari, with the meagre resources at his disposal, was able to build more kilometres of roads than the PDP did in 16 years, even though they had more money.
“Are they saying Nigeria should return to the years where Boko Haram held all of us to ransom and the looting of the public treasury was the order of the day?”

World’s oldest man turns 113

The world’s oldest man turned 113 on Thursday and the Holocaust survivor living in Israel readied for the Bar Mitzvah he was denied a century ago, his family said.
Yisrael Kristal, an observant Jew from Zarnow in what is now Poland and currently living in the port city of Haifa, was born on September 15, 1903, three months before the Wright brothers’ first successful powered airplane flight.
Guinness World Records in March recognised him as the world’s oldest man.
While he turned 113 on Thursday under the Gregorian calendar, his family will celebrate the birthday at the end of September according to the Hebrew calendar, his daughter Shula Koperstoch told AFP.
The festivities will include a Bar Mitzvah that will come 100 years late.
The Bar Mitzvah is one of the most important ceremonies in the life of a Jew.
Usually marked at 13 for boys and 12 or 13 for girls — a Bat Mitzvah in that case — it marks the transition into someone responsible for their actions.
Kristal was unable to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah in 1916 because his mother had died three months earlier and his father was a soldier in the Russian army at the time of World War I.
“My father is religious and has prayed every morning for 100 years, but he has never had his Bar Mitzvah,” his daughter said.
Around 100 family members will attend, with the date and location being kept secret to avoid Kristal having to contend with a crush of journalists, she said.
Asked about his health, Koperstoch said only: “He is ageing.”
After World War I, Kristal moved to Lodz where he worked in the family confectionary factory, married and had two children.
But his life was disrupted when the Jewish quarter of the city became a ghetto under Nazi occupation during World War II and Kristal was sent to the infamous Nazi death camp Auschwitz-Birkenau.
Around 1.1 million people, most of them European Jews, perished in the camp between 1940 and 1945 before it was liberated by Soviet forces.
His wife and two children died but Kristal survived, weighing just 37 kilos (81 pounds) at the end of the war.
He then moved to Israel, where he has lived for over six decades. He re-married, had a son and opened a sweet shop.
He is four years younger than the world’s oldest woman, Emma Morano, an Italian who turns 117 in November — meaning she was born in the 19th century.
The previous oldest man, Yasutaro Koide of Japan, died in January at the age of 112.
Jeanne Louise Calment, who died in 1997, was the oldest verified person ever — passing away in France aged 122 years and 164 days.

I’m not jealous of Davido’s success —B-Red

Bayo Adeleke, aka B-Red, is signed on with music label, HKN, and is also a cousin to multiple award-winning artiste, Davido.
Notwithstanding his average popularity in the industry, many music lovers have refused to acknowledge his talent. In fact, they are of the opinion that his days as an artiste are numbered.  They are disappointed that his career has not assumed a different dimension in spite of Davido and HKN’s influence. Despite the view of many, the heavily-tattooed musician says he is happy where he is.
In an interview with Sunday Scoop, down-to-earth and forthright B-Red, said he is happy at the pace of his growth.“Knowing that God has a plan for everybody, I am comfortable with the unhurried pace. There was a time I didn’t have a car or a Rolex, but look at me now. Every year, I grow and I will get bigger, so I am not in a rush. I am okay and content,” he said.
B-Red who has also been accused of living under Davido’s shadow said there is no shame in leveraging on the star power of his cousin.
He said, “In every group, you have a leader and I do not care about being number one as long as I am doing good, getting money and doing shows. Davido is number one and we follow but you never know, probably I’ll be as big as he is. If your cousin is a star, won’t you want to be a star too? I built my brand by hyping my cousin for four years and look at where I am now.”
B-Red who is busy promoting his new EP released under HKN titled,  All The Way Up, also denied that leaving HKN. While rebutting the story, he confirmed he would be doing a collaboration with Maryokun, whom many insinuated that he is envious of.
“There is no beef between me and Maryokun, we are hitting the studio soon and doing something together, I didn’t leave HKN and I am not leaving HKN. I even have the HKN tattooed on my body. My contract is very long. HKN is family and I am not leaving,” he stressed.

Fresh $5m found in Patience Jonathan’s account

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has traced an additional $5m to the Skye Bank account of Dame Patience Jonathan, the wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan.
This brings to $20m the total amount so far traced to the former first lady.
As part of investigations into a money laundering case against a former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Jonathan, Waripamowei Dudafa, the EFCC had traced four company accounts to him with a balance of $15m.

The EFCC subsequently charged Dudafa and the four companies with money laundering.
The four companies, whose accounts have since been frozen, are Pluto Property and Investment Company Limited, Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Limited, Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Limited and Globus Integrated Service Limited.
A source at the EFCC said, “While we were investigating Dudafa, we traced the four companies to him. The companies have domiciliary accounts at Skye Bank with a balance of about $15m. So, we obtained a court order and froze the accounts.
“We then traced the directors of the companies who then denied ownership of the accounts. It was later that we were informed that the accounts belonged to Patience Jonathan and that she is the sole signatory to the accounts. She was given a special card which she used in making withdrawals across the world.
“We, therefore, wondered why the accounts were not opened in her name if she had nothing to hide. In fact, we later found out that her personal account, which bears her name, has a balance of $5m. One wonders where a person, who has never held a government position, got the money from. She was not our initial target but she certainly has questions to answer.”
Jonathan’s wife has, however, sued Skye Bank for freezing her bank accounts and giving the EFCC vital information about her finances.
Patience filed a N200m fundamental rights enforcement suit against Skye Bank Plc.
One Sammie Somiari, who deposed to an affidavit on behalf of Patience, claimed that the EFCC placed a No Debit Order on the four accounts in July, in the course of probing Dudafa.
The EFCC has now filed an amended 17 counts against Dudafa and seven others, including the four companies, wherein the suspects were accused of conspiring to conceal $15,591,700, which the EFCC claimed they ought to have known formed part of proceeds of an unlawful act.
Somiari said in the affidavit filed on behalf of Patience, who is said to be away for an urgent medical treatment abroad, that it was Dudafa who helped Patience open the four bank accounts which the EFCC froze.
According to him, Dudafa had on March 22, 2010 brought two Skye Bank officers, Demola Bolodeoku and Dipo Oshodi, to meet Patience at home to open five accounts.
The deponent claimed that Patience was the sole signatory to the accounts.
He, however, claimed that after the five accounts were opened, Patience later discovered that Dudafa opened only one of the accounts in her name, while the other four were opened in the names of companies belonging to Dudafa.
Somiari added, “The applicant (Patience) complained about this to Dudafa, who at his prompting and instance promised to effect the change of the said accounts to the applicant’s name; and to effect this change, Dudafa brought the said bank manager, Mr. Dipo Oshodi, who was purported to have effected the changes. This was about April 2014.
“The applicant is not a director, shareholder or participant in the companies named in the aforementioned four accounts.
“The bank official, Mr. Dipo Oshodi, as it would appear, did not effect or reflect the instruction of the applicant to change the said accounts to her name(s) despite repeated requests of the applicant.
“Besides, the ATM credit cards bearing the said companies’ names were brought to the applicant by Mr. Dipo Oshodi of the second respondent bank, who promised to replace them once the cards bearing the changed names were available, but he never did.
“However, since 2010 up until 2014 and thereafter, the applicant had been using the cards on the said accounts and operating the said accounts without let or hindrance.
“Even in May, June and July 2016, the applicant travelled overseas for medical treatment and was using the said credit cards abroad up until July 7, 2016 or thereabout when the cards stopped functioning.”
In her fundamental rights suit, Patience is urging the court to compel the EFCC to immediately remove the No Debit Order placed on her accounts.
She also wants the court to order Skye Bank to pay her damages in the sum of N200m for what she termed a violation of her right to own personal property under Section 44 of the Constitution.
However, the EFCC is in moves to arraign Dudafa and his alleged accomplices for money laundering before a Federal High Court in Lagos.
Further proceedings in the case has been adjourned until September 15.
However, the Chairman, Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), has said with the fresh admission by Patience that she owns the accounts, the EFCC has the right to probe her.
Sagay told one of our correspondents on the telephone that the Act establishing the EFCC gave the anti-graft agency the power to investigate anybody who is seen to have more wealth than he ought to have.
The senior advocate wondered how Patience, who was a civil servant and never held any government position, could have billions in her bank accounts.
He said, “The EFCC and ICPC Act have provisions under which they can ask the court to freeze the account of a person if a person’s capacity to earn is below the amount of money that the person appears to have.
“If you are living a lavish lifestyle and it appears you don’t have the means to have acquired the property and the wealth you have, the EFCC is free to probe you.
“If she is claiming the money belongs to her, she has put herself in a position where she must explain how she earned it.”
Attempts to get the comments of the wife of the former president were not successful.
Repeated calls and a text message sent to the Media Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr Ikechukwu Eze, were also not responded to as of 8:45pm on Saturday.
